1. Wagering requirement
The wagering requirement tells you how many times you must bet the bonus amount before you can withdraw winnings. For example, if the bonus is RM200 and the requirement is 20x, you need to place RM4,000 in bets. Higher numbers mean harder to clear.
Look for this figure in the terms. A number below 30x is reasonable for a cash bonus. If the site states “bonus + deposit” as the base, the total you need to wager increases. Always calculate it yourself using ringgit amounts.
2. Game contribution
Not all games count equally toward the wagering requirement. Slots usually contribute 100%, while table games like blackjack or baccarat may count only 10% or zero. If you play games with low contribution, you will clear the requirement much slower.
Check the games list in the bonus terms. Stick to slots if you want the fastest path. Some platforms exclude all jackpot slots or specific titles. Understanding contribution rates prevents wasted bets and frustration later.
3. Expiry period
Every welcome bonus has a time limit. Common periods are 7, 14, or 30 days from the moment you claim. If you do not meet the wagering requirement before the expiry, the bonus and any winnings are forfeited. You lose both.
Find the expiry date in the terms. Divide the total wagering amount by the days available. For example, RM4,000 over 7 days means about RM572 per day. If that feels too high for your budget, consider a different bonus or a lower deposit.
4. Maximum bet rule
Many welcome bonuses cap the bet size while you play through the wagering requirement. A typical limit is RM30 per spin or hand. If you place a bet above that, the platform may void your bonus and keep your winnings. The rule applies until the requirement is met.
Read the terms for the exact limit. Stick to small bets to stay safe. If you prefer high stakes, choose a bonus with no max bet rule or one with a high cap. Ignoring this rule is one of the fastest ways to lose access to your funds.
5. Withdrawal cap
Some bonuses limit how much you can withdraw from winnings earned with the bonus. For instance, the cap might be RM500 or RM1,000, even if you win RM5,000. Any excess is removed when you request a withdrawal. This is often called a “max cashout” clause.
Find the cap in the terms. If it is low, the bonus may not suit high-win scenarios. Compare caps across offers. A bonus with no withdrawal cap or a high cap gives you more freedom. Always know this number before depositing.
